I have heard this song twice on the radio, and it stopped me in My tracks. The second time, however, i did concentrate a bit And got the tune and some words, which is what's in this file. As i've only heard it twice, this can only be called an arrangement, And i have no idea how it compares to the original cohen version, Not having heard it.

Hallelujah originally by Leonard Cohen, this tab is an arrangement of the version by Jeff (sp?) Buckley (sp?), from the album 'Grace'

Here's a simple arrangement of a very striking song - Verses only - tab for the breaks is not included. The only hard bit is the A/F#, which you can cheat On just by lifting the finger when you need to. Notes in parentheses are _alternatives_ It helps to always play D as

Eadgbe or Eadgbe ====== ======

The rhythm is pretty simple, but I have added words throughout, And time notation where it might be tricky.

Well I heard there was a secret chord That David played and it pleased please the Lord But you don't really care for music, do ya Well it goes like this, the fourth, the fifth The minor fall and the major lift The baffled king composes Hallelujah

Well your faith was strong, but you needed proof You saw her bathing on the roof Her beauty in the moonlight overthrew ya She tied you to her kitchen chair And she broke your throne, and she cut your hair And from your lips you drew Hallelujah

Well baby I've been here before I've seen this room and I've walked this floor, you know I used to live alone before I knew ya And I've seen your flag on the marble arch And love is not a victory march It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah

Well the was a time when you let me know What's really going on below But now you never show that to me do ya But remember when I moved in you And the Holy Dove was moving too And every breath we drew was Hallelujah

Maybe there's a God above But all I have ever learned from love Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew ya And it's not a cry that you hear at night It's not somebody who's seen the light It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah
