I don't remember if I've ever posted this song. I stole the Arrangement from Chet Atkins, after hearing him play it on Austin City Limits. I learned it in an effort to teach myself to fingerpick, so My version is pretty simple.

The hardest thing is to get the timing of the melody line right. I Play this song with a Jazzy triplet (swing) rhythm. The bass part Played with the thumb stays right on the downbeat, but the melody Jumps ahead of the beat sometimes:

I hope you can make some sense out of that notation.

Typically, I play: Intro, straight verse, improvised verse, chorus, Improvised verse, chorus, coda.

Jerry Jeff Walker wrote it in the mid 1960s. I remember Hearing it in unfinished form about 1966-67.
