This piece has a syncopated melody played with The index and middle finger played against a strictly alternating bass line Played in straight eighths. To practice this piece first learn the bass line Alone, then the melody alone, then try putting them together. Once you get the Idea on the first one or two bars the rest of the piece will come easily, just Start slow then build up to full speed. Since it's hard to notate syncopation In tab I'll give a graphic representation of the syncopated melody's rhythm, Then do a count-off below the first bar with counts only where notes are To be played. Although this rhythm figure stays pretty constant there are a Few places where the rhythm changes - they are noted in the tab, just Make sure you don't miss the variations. Notice below that you squeeze "p" and "m" together on the downbeat of One and Three, but otherwise the thumb and Melody fingers aren't plucked together.
